In a world full of Kardashians and selfie sticks its easier then ever to get caught up in yourself. Luckily for most of us we have the ability to do this tastefully.
Social media, mobile devices and a plethora of other digital devices are creating a fast evolving marketplace that's not only exciting but gives grandparents everywhere hours of material to complain about.
However, there is a problem with how we communicate our businesses online.
What people don't realize is this constant lifestyle of "sharing" is trickling into their digital marketing. We need to start looking at potential clients / customers like a first date. Not people that are already interested in us but as people looking for someone that understands them.
You might be thinking "I need to let people know about all these great things I can do." However, what you actually sound like is a 35 year old guy that's been talking about his high school football days for over an hour.
The solution is a basic change of philoshophy to your content marketing.
Simply change, "Here's what I do/know" to "I can help you because I do/know this."
The difference is basic but the impact is dramatic. So take a step back and don't forget that the person you're talking to has needs, and you are just the person that can help.
