This past month we launched a new project that we have been working on for about 6 months, Sportsmen America. If you've ever planned an outdoor related trip, you spend a lot of time jumping back and forth between website looking for lodging, guides, local info, and places to eat. This can get time consuming and many times you miss some of the good local spots because they don't have a web presence.
The idea for Sportsmen America is to provide a way for hunters, fishermen, and outdoor adventurers to connect with local businesses and plan their own outdoor trip. Users have the ability to search for guides, retailers, restaurants, lodges, anything that will help them piece together a DIY adventure. We've designed the site around a map of the United States where visitors can click on the state they want to travel to. From there, listings of businesses will be displayed that they can sort by business type or click to get more information. Business listings can be stored in a favorites list to help users plan their trip.
Beyond the listing search, the site will feature blog content including articles, videos, and podcasts promoting the outdoor industry as well as resources including local licensing information.
